How ARMACO used its utility optimization technology to reduce costs and increase the yield of Rallis' gelatin unit by up to 20%.
As Rallis' gelatin manufacturing process costs were significantly escalating, ARMACO was commissioned to assess the operations and suggest sustainable remedial action.
ARMACO's analysis and suggestions allowed the following benefits to Rallis India, without compromising on throughput:
- Reduce steam consumption per tonne of product by 33%
- Reduce water consumption per tonne of product by 50%
- Process corrections to ensure increased yield of better quality (high bloom) product by 15-20%
ARMACO assisted the factory management to implement the process corrections & ensured that each of the targeted improvements was achieved. Within a 6-month period, there were significant improvements to the factory's top and bottom lines. Two years later, the plant had effluent related problems (high TDS). ARMACO recommended a simple but effective solution to remove the dissolved impurities as a valuable byproduct.
